About John Sommese

Highly experienced in the media sales industry in New York City, John Sommese currently serves with TeleRep Inc. as Vice President and General Sales Manager. This position entails overseeing the national revenue of television stations owned by Griffin Communications, Belo Corp., and Cox Enterprises. John Sommese’s responsibilities focus on reviewing the work of 150 sales managers and account executives and establishing the estimates for future advertising spending. His decisions directly affect programming and station inventory pricing for 14 regional markets in the United States.

John Sommese joined TeleRep in 1998 as an Account Executive. Quickly advancing with the company, he achieved a promotion to serve as Sales Manager in New York for Tribune stations and subsequently earned his current position of Vice President in 2004. Earlier in his career, John Sommese served as an Account Executive for Blair Television. His work in that position focused on representing and selling television stations’ inventory to New York agencies. Through his diligent service, he became recognized as a leading sales personality in New York City. John Sommese’s past work history also includes gaining experience as a Media Buyer for Time Buying Services and a Senior Media Buyer for American Home Products.

John Sommese graduated from Smithtown High School West in Smithtown, New York, and went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts in Media Management from the State University of New York at New Paltz. His activities during college included serving as a member of the lacrosse team. Continuing to engage in a range of outdoor and athletic activities, John Sommese particularly enjoys golfing, skiing, boating, and snowmobiling.
